Summer 2009 starts

- I finally got those so much anticipated first kilometres to the odometer after having engine rebuild finished in the summer. First impression was good. Engine was running nice, although idle was anything but stabile. Negotiating traffic lights with running engine required constant tap dancing with pedals and left foot braking. Some adjustments and fine tuning did the job and the tach needle settled. And now after some 2000 km and some fine tuning later it seems that idle has calmed down even more. Lesson lerned: don't fiddle with throttle body's basic settings...
- What about the new nature of my power plant? It's more responsive and revhappier than before. Usable torque has increased significantly also. Thanks goes to increased compression ratio and displacement. 81 mm vs. 78 mm diameter mugs make some difference!
- Lighter flywheel might have something to do with previously mentioned challenging idle. Super light flywheel, to be exact! Weight of the original's 7 kilograms went down to 3,6 kg. That can really be felt of better rev pickup and faster gear shifts.

- So, 2009 season finally got started and I had my fair share of growling intake noise penetrating the sun roof cockpit. Nice!
